Thank you for visiting our website! The 2011 Ardmore 5K Race, Fun Run and Food Drive is scheduled for October 8, 2011.

Last year's event was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who joined us for a great morning. Sponsors, donors and race/fun run participants raised $18,000 for Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC! Hope to see you this year!

Wow. What a fabulous morning! The 9th Annual Ardmore 5K was a great event again this year. We were able to donate approximately $10,000 to Second Harvest Food Bank, plus all the food donated on-site and collected in the community this week. We couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather. We had a few issues with the timing, and we are very sorry this happened, but we are working with the track club to resolve the pending concerns, and will get the official results posted early next week.

If you registered and were unable to attend, we missed you! We’ll hold your shirt in the office at the church for a week. Just stop in before next Saturday and claim it.

A huge THANK YOU to all the sponsors, volunteers and runners. We’ve provided 70,000 meals in our community today. Next year’s the big 10th year….wait for it. It’s going to be huge!

Two Days!

We’re almost there! The race is in 2 days! Be sure to encourage your friends/neighbors to sign up. It’s not too late.

If you are running, keep in mind a few things. Strollers are welcome, but no dogs please. If your family is running, please have the strollers near the back for everyone safety.

Miller St will close at 8am, so you can park on side streets, or at Ardmore Baptist Church on Miller (between Redeemer and Cloverdale Ave). We have their permission to use their parking lot.

Go to the store!! For every 3 items of nonperishable foods you bring to packet pickup or to the race, you get a raffle ticket to win a prize. This year’s prizes are: A gift card to Bob’s, a Columbia Fleece jacket, and a FIFTY dollar gift card to Fleet Feet! Be sure to bring food. The more you bring, the more chances you have to win!

See you Saturday. The weather is supposed to be perfect for running!

It’s Getting Close!!!

Hey Friends,

The race is just 5 days away!  Online registrations closed tonight, but you can still sign up to run by coming to packet-pickup Friday night, 6pm – 8pm at Whole Foods on Miller Street, or by signing up between 7am and 8am the morning of the race!  Can’t wait to see you there.

And don’t forget!!! This is a food drive for our friends and neighbors in need via Second Harvest Food Bank.  As you drive home this week from work, stop at the store and pick up some non-perishable food items.  For every three items you bring to packet pickup or to the race, you’ll be given a raffle ticket for some cool prizes!

We are looking forward to Saturday morning!  Hope you are ready to run!

Hey Folks. Register now! The price goes up Oct 1. Encourage all your friends/family/neighbors to support the Second Harvest Food Bank and run the race. AND, don’t forget the raffle. Bring 3 cans of food/3 items of non-perishable food to the packet pick-up/race and get a ticket for some really cool prizes!!! It’s Coming!

The race is just around the corner! Are you ready to run? Have you invited your friend to run? What about your neighbor? We are getting very excited about the Ardmore 5K, and we are excited to announce that the race this year will be chip timed! You can run right across the finish line and straight to the water station.  Be sure to get registered, and if you are on Facebook, go to the Ardmore 5K page, ‘like’ it, and share it with your FB community.

Pre-Registered Runners

If you were pre-registered for the Ardmore 5K and couldn’t make it on race day, we have your t-shirt and resuable Whole Foods Better Bag race bag filled with goodies and coupons for you. It will be held in the Redeemer Church office (1046 Miller Street) until Nov. 1st.  Stop by to pick them up!

Amazing

There is only one word to describe this morning’s event – amazing. Simply Amazing. From the weather to the community spirit, the morning was great. Together, with the help of sponsors, donations and Fun Run/5K Race participants, we were able to raise $18,000 for Second Harvest Food Bank. With that money, the Food Bank will be able to provide 126,00 meals.

A huge thank you to our generous sponsors, giving volunteers and energetic participants. Without you, none of this would be possible. Thank you for a wonderful year and we look forward to seeing you all again at next year’s race!

One little business note – the morning’s race results will be available from the Twin City Track Club by mid week.  We apologize for the delay and will post them as soon as they’re up!

Registration Reminder and Weather Forecast

Just a reminder that you still have time to register for tomorrow’s race tonight and tomorrow morning!

Tonight at Whole Foods Winston-Salem (41 Miller Street) from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. or tomorrow morning from 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. at Redeemer Church (1046 Miller Street).

Also, our friends at WXII-12 are forecasting beautiful running weather for the morning – sunny and cool!

Win a Running Jacket or Running Shoes

You could be sporting an awesome new running jacket or a pair of new running shoes Saturday afternoon. Fleet Feet Sports is providing two jackets and two pairs of shoes for four lucky winners of this raffle. Here are the details:

What: For every 3 non-perishable food items you donate, you’ll receive 1 raffle ticket.
Where: Donate your food items at packet picket Friday, Oct. 15 (Whole Foods) or at Redeemer Church Saturday registration – 6:30 to 8 a.m.
How: Winners will be drawn during the after-race festivities in the awards area.
Stipulation: Winners must be present to win.

Bring a bag full of non-perishable items with you to Whole Foods Friday evening or Redeemer Saturday morning. The more food you bring, the more chances you have to win!
